We Be HostiN supports easy installation of WordPress through our control panel or via manual installation.  WordPress is a decent open source platform, but it's not perfect.

A security issue has been identified that slows the server to a crawl due to an exploit found in WordPress code.  As such, We Be HostiN is requiring all clients to install the Disable XML-RPC Pingbacks plugin through the WordPress administrator control panel.  This needs to be done for EACH installation of WordPress you run.  

Until this issue is fixed, action must be taken.  If your WordPress installation is NOT running this plugin, the server is open to attack which results in a poorer quality of service for all our customers.  Please install this plugin for every WordPress installation you have.

Also, WordPress is evidently quite open to attacks in general.  Please also install the free version of the Wordfence security plugin for EACH installation of WordPress you run.  Run a scan to see if any of your files have been exploited or if any of your plugins & themes need updates. We Be HostiN recently discovered one of our WordPress installations sending massive amounts of spam in a fashion similar to the one described here.

The Kansas City server will be rebooted at 1AM MST on Saturday, December 5, 2015. 

Game servers should be back up and running within a few minutes of the server being rebooted.

One of the hard drives in our RAID array has failed in our Kansas City dedicated server.  It is being inspected tonight at 12:00 AM Midnight 10/15/2014.  There may be some downtime of up to an hour.  Should the hard drive need to be replaced, a replacement will be shipped out to the data center and additional downtime will be announced when the replacement is to be installed.

We Be HostiN's physical Chicago web server was replaced on 9/28/2014 with a new, faster server!  All existing website files, MySQL databases, and other settings & files were successfully transferred to the new server.  

Please open a support ticket if you experience any issues.

The Kansas City server was moved to our ISP's new data center last night at 3AM Central Time.  This was a required step that had to be taken since they are moving out of their old rented space.  Unfortunately, the server has been offline since.  I'm working to resolve it.  Everything should be back up shortly.

The Kansas City server is currently down.  A remote reboot request has been submitted.  

Scheduled shutdown for 5 AM rather than shutdown now.

The Dallas, TX server will be rebooted this morning at 5:00 AM Mountain Time due to kernel updates.

Everything was back online within 30 minutes.  A few settings were tweaked and things should be OK now.   

Texas servers are currently down.  The cause is still under investigation.  It could be a data center outage or a problem with hardware.  I'll update this thread once I find out more.

The Houston, Texas server will be restarted tonight (2/14/2013) at midnight Mountain Standard Time. Servers should be back up and running within a few minutes.

Sorry for the late update, but the replacement server was installed without a hitch.  In fact, it went so smoothly that I almost felt that a post was unnecessary.  Hope you enjoy the new hardware!  Let us know if you experience any issues at all.
